Chirag Dave, Badminton
At the OCAA East Regional Badminton Championships, hosted by yours truly, Chirag Dave, helped secure the Gold Medal in Mixed Doubles, alongside teammate Taylor Liou. The mixed doubles competition was closely contested and ended up in a three-way tie for first place. The pair, who had never played together before, beat out Seneca in two straight games to clinch first place. Their skills and abilities complemented each other well and resulted in success.
Mariam Konate, Women's Basketball
Mariam Konate is a first-year guard for the Women's Basketball team. This rookie has done really well for herself so far this year, as per a few noticeable OCAA rankings: fourth in steals (49), 24th in assists (40), and 48th in points (137). The team came really close to beating Algonquin last weekend (L 80-83), and Mariam's efforts did not go unnoticed. Despite the competitive matchup, Mariam achieved 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
