Satchel Powers Sting to Victory

The Seneca Sting added a key offensive weapon prior to their second game of the season in Alcian Satchel and it paid off as the Sting defeated the Centennial Colts 60-44.

The game started slow with both teams missing shots early. Just over two minutes in, Daniel Beltcher broke the scoreless tie from the free throw line to give the Sting the lead.

Satchel made an immediate impact in the Sting line-up. With seven points in the opening quarter, Stachel's total equaled the output of the Colts as the Sting led 14-7.

The Colts pulled to within four points at 22-18 midway through the second quarter, but the Sting were able to extend their lead to 28-21 at the half. Satchel continued her scoring dominance, finishing the half with 13 points.

The Sting continued to take it to the Colts in the second half, extending their lead to nineteen midway through the fourth quarter for the win.

With the win, the Sting improve to 1-1 on the season while the Colts fall to 1-1. The Sting are back in action on Friday against the Algonquin Thunder at 6:00PM in the Newnham Campus Gym.
