OSHAWA, ONT.- The Centennial Colts headed into Vaso's Field to try and pull off an upset against the Durham Lords. And although they had a fighter's chance after the first half, Durham extinguished any sort of hope that Centennial had in the second.

Behind a pair of goals each from striker Jacklyn Brzezinski and defender Milinda Robelro, the Lords (7-2-1) dominated with a resounding 5-0 victory over the Colts (0-8-1), who remain winless this season.

Robelro also had an assist while midfielder Vanessa Juras scored for Durham. Striker Cory Lapointe had a pair of assists while midfielder Madison Haigh also chipped in with an assist.

The Lords beat the Colts in all the major categories, outpacing them in shots (25-6), shots on goal (18-5), and corner kicks (5-2).

"Tonight, they (Durham) were the best opposition we've had all season," Diarmuid O'Connor, Colts Head Coach said. "They moved the ball fantastically and their movement off the ball was the most important thing."

Sabrina Rizzo stopped 13 out of 18 shots for Centennial while Jenna King made five saves for her fifth clean sheet of the season.

Brzezinski opened up the scoring in the 13th minute when Lapointe gave her a beautifully executed pass before firing into the bottom right corner.

Durham added to their lead in the 25th minute and Lapointe was involved once again, this time finding Juras for the goal, as they went into the half up 2-0.

The Lords made it 3-0 after Roblero sped through the middle of the field and fed Brzezinski. Rizzo got a piece of Brzezinski's shot but not enough of it as the striker got her second of the night.

Roblero joined in the goal scoring column in the 63rd minute off of a feed from Haigh as Durham continued to pile on the goals. She then scored her second of the night in the 72nd minute, beating Rizzo in the box to the bottom left corner to wrap up the night's scoring.

Despite the chilly weather and the lopsided score, O'Connor was a little bit encouraged by how the Colts operated in the second half.

"Even though they scored three goals, I thought we made a better effort in the second half," O'Connor said. "I was kind of pleased with how we finished the game than how we started it."

The Colts hope to put this loss behind them as they have five days off before Wednesday's game against the unbeaten Seneca Sting (7-0-1).

"It's a good way to see whether your team will fold or play harder and win back some of our pride," O'Connor said about bouncing back. "We're going to give them (Seneca) a good game. The girls have battled well after a bad loss."
