SCARBOROUGH - The Centennial Colts women’s volleyball team is set to host its home opener this Wednesday at the Athletic & Wellness Centre.

Behind first-year head coach Andrew Mallory the Colts will welcome the Georgian Grizzlies in for both teams’ second match of the season.

The Grizzlies (0-1) are coming into Wednesday’s night affair after dropping their home opener to the George Brown Huskies in straight sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-18). They come into the 2022-23 season looking to improve upon their 3-5 finish that saw them place seventh in the east division last year.

On the home side, Centennial (1-0) started out its season with a win. The Colts topped the Fleming Knights 3-2 on Friday — their first victory since the 2019-20 OCAA season. Centennial did not compete in the 2021-22 season and the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the Colts' first of two matches this week. They will welcome the Seneca Sting to the AWC on Sunday.
