HUSKIES FALL SHORT AT REGIONALS

The women's indoor soccer team fought until the bitter end at Regionals but missed out on advancing to the Provincial Championships by just a single point.

After a 4-0 loss to the Centennial Colts in their opening match, the Huskies bounced back with a dominant performance against Confederation. They jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes before the offense exploded. Bianca Rea posted a hat trick, while Keely Toussaint, Ashley MacDonald, and Senna Mathew also found the net, sealing a 6-0 victory. Iman Bhanji and Krystina Carvalho added goals to complete the scoring.

The momentum carried into their match against the Sheridan Bruins, where goalkeeper Yazmeen Jamieson made several spectacular saves to keep the game scoreless. With just five minutes remaining, Sojung Kim broke the deadlock on a partial breakaway, and George Brown locked it down defensively the rest of the way to secure the win.

In the final round-robin match against Humber, the Huskies conceded an early goal and couldn't find the equalizer. Unfortunately, they finished fourth in their group after Humber and Sheridan tied in the final match of the day, leaving George Brown just one point shy of advancing.
