Scarborough, ON – [October 5, 2023] – Centennial College is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rich Hirst as the full-time Sports Field and Dome Coordinator for the Athletics and Recreation Department, in addition to his role as the Head Coach of the Colts Women's Soccer team. This exciting move demonstrates Centennial's commitment to elevating its athletic, recreation and wellness programs to enrich the student experience.

Rich Hirst, a seasoned professional with an impressive track record in coaching, and administration as the Technical Director for the Durham Soccer Association and as an entrepreneur, managing soccer academy FC Durham, will take on the dual responsibility of managing the field through the year, including the new state-of-the-art dome during the winter months while continuing to lead the women's soccer team. This appointment is a testament to his dedication and expertise.

Darcy Brioux, Manager of Athletics and Recreation at Centennial College, expressed his enthusiasm for Rich Hirst joining the team full-time, saying, "We are delighted to have Rich Hirst as a full-time member of our Athletics and Recreation Department. His technical skills, passion, leadership, and commitment to our student-athletes make him an invaluable addition to our team. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact he will have on our programs and the growth of our athletes and greater student population."

Rich Hirst, upon accepting the dual roles, shared his excitement and vision for the future, stating, "I am honoured and thrilled to take on this new challenge. Working as the Sports Field and Dome Coordinator while continuing to coach the Women's Soccer team is a real joy of mine. I am excited to contribute to the development of our students on and off the field, and I'm confident that together, we will achieve great success."

Under Rich Hirst's leadership, the Colts Women's Soccer team has seen remarkable improvements, and his new role as Sports Field and Dome Coordinator is set to enhance the overall athletic and wellness experience for all Centennial College students.
