EX Men's Basketball Come Up Short In Semis

The Men’s Extramural Basketball team traveled to Hamilton today to play in the Mohawk Mountaineers Invitational Tournament. First up were the Seneca Sting from Newnham, however, they had no sting as the Colts Kicked em’ down to take the game 35-22. This one was not a close affair. In the second matchup of the day it was the Colts and the Knights from Niagara. This was a back and forth see-saw affair that saw no team claim dominance as the game ended in a tie. It took overtime to settle on who was to be the winner. In fact it would take 3, yes count them, 3 overtimes for the Niagara Knights to emerge victorious by the very slim margin of 1 point defeating the Colts 41-40. In the third and what ended up bring the final contest of the day, the colts tipped off against Humber College.  In the final game the Hawks emerged victorious by a score of 39-23 as Centennial did not have enough left in the tank to take the game. Next the Colts faced Mohawk in the Quarter Finals defeating them by a score of 45-41. Although the Mountaineers had home court advantage, they could not overcome the Colts.  Then onto the Semis the Colts faced the Hawks of Humber once again. This time the colts were out to best their opponents whom they had lost to earlier in the day.  Unfortunately as fate would have it the outcome was the same as Humber downed Centennial by a score of 53-34 to advance to the tournament finals. It was a valiant effort from the guys as they finished off the regular season.
