On Friday night, The Colts faced the George Brown Huskies in what seemed to be an even match-up, as both teams sat at 2-1 heading into Friday's game. What transpired was not the even game, as the Colts trounced the Huskies in a comfortable victory, 75-62.

It was a great performance from a squad that needed to use its excellent conditioning to get the win, having faced Durham College two nights earlier, something that assistant coach Tamara Nembhard pointed out after the game.

"Defensively, we contained and were able to protect the play like we wanted to," said Nembhard. "Offensively, some of our execution could have tightened up, but overall, with the numbers that we have, [you can see] we are working hard... We can tell [our ladys] the power is not in our numbers, but the fight inside our numbers."

George Brown took the lead early, using their height to their advantage with, Carolina Rebolledo at Center. The 6'3 Mexican was not only a key piece of the Husky's offence but also their defensive anchor. She was left with the unfortunate responsibility of covering Abigail Baptiste-Phillip, the league's leading scorer, leading rebounder and a favourite for the OCAA Rookie of the Year award.

Sadly for the Huskies, Rebolledo couldn't keep up with the Colts' run-and-gun style, due to a previous knee injury and could play only 26 minutes. With Robolledo limited, Baptiste-Phillip went to work, scoring 35 points, 22 rebounds, and seven assists. The 6'1 Toronto forward finished three assists away from a triple-double.

"Abi is a superstar, and she is just getting started, but Sophia Errazo and Christiana Crooks also had great performances," added coach Nembhard. "Sophia found her shot last game, and we are happy to have that firepower coming out of her, and Crooks being a point guard, she is being super productive every time she plays. They have become a very important trio for us."

The Lady Colts will now have a well-deserved rest before hosting the Loyalist Lancers next Friday at the AWC.
