Game 1 Fanshawe

The Centennial Colts Women's Soccer team started their group stage games against the Fanshawe Falcons. The Colts went undefeated in the qualifiers last week, going 4-0.

Centennial was under fire early on in this game but pushed through and got the first goal of the match mid-way through the first half. The first half ended 1-0 Colts.

A mishap in the back by Fanshawe led to the Colts second goal midway through the second half. The Colts were firing on all cylinders in the second half and scored three unanswered goals.

After an amazing first game, the Colts Women's team won this 4-0.

Centennial goalie Jordyn Chrons-Slaght had an amazing first game of the day, keeping a clean sheet and helping Centennial get their first win of the day.

Game 2 Seneca

The Colts Women's team played the hosts, Seneca Sting, in their second game of the day. This game felt like a big match, as a spot in the knockout round was on the line.

Both teams had won their first games and were looking to go 2-0.

At half, the score was still 0-0, with everything still to play for.

Both teams were pushing for the first goal of the game. It eventually came off a bad bounce from a Centennial defender, leading to the one and only goal of the game. The hosts Sting, won this match with a score of 1-0.

Centennial will be looking to join Seneca in the knockout rounds tomorrow with a win in their last match against Humber.

Game 3 Humber

The Colts are trying to qualify for the knockout rounds in this last game against Humber College.

It was a back and forth affair, and Humber struck first midway through the first half. Centennial was on their heels for the majority of the first half.

With the time dwindling down, Humber's goalie took out a Centennial player by the legs. The Colts were given a penalty with the last kick of the half. The Humber goalie made good on her mistake by saving the spot kick.

The second half was an intense back and forth battle between both teams. Finally, mid-way through the half, Centennial struck gold and tied the game at one all.

That was the last good look either team got as this game ended 1-1, which was good enough to see the Colts make the knockout rounds.

A date with the Durham Lords in the semi-finals would be the next opponent for the Colts on Friday.
