In 1975, Paul Clarke began his journey as a Centennial student in the 2-year Recreation Leadership Program. During his time as a student, he was a dual athlete playing on the basketball and soccer team. Paul's athleticism on the basketball team earned him the MVP during the 1975-76 season. At the 1977 Athletic Awards Banquet, he was awarded the Male Athlete of the Year.


Upon graduation, Paul transitioned into an Assistant Coach role with the men's basketball program. In 1980, he became the Colt's men's soccer coach and played a vital role in establishing a men's varsity indoor soccer program. His vision for an indoor soccer program did not end at Centennial and during the 1987-88 season, Paul Clarke became the first men's indoor soccer convenor for the OCAA.


In 1977, Paul became the Campus Recreation & Facility Coordinator at Centennial's Ashtonbee campus. Paul could be found in the gym organizing tournaments and events and interacting daily with staff and students. He was known on campus as the “heart & soul” of Ashtonbee.
After 34 years of service, Paul decided to pursue a lifestyle of leisure and retired from Centennial on December 31, 2011.


Paul Clarke was then awarded the Honourary COLT at the 2013 Athletic Awards Banquet for his continued support and contribution to the Athletics department.
