Toronto, ON - At the East Regional Championships, the Centennial Colts made their name KNOWN as ALL of our players placed top 3 in their respective events and they will ALL advance to the OCAA Provincial Championships which will be hosted on our very own home courts.
Our returning champ, Colin Zhou was untouchable in men's singles winning the shiny gold title. Roney Roy & Ranjana Bhatt joined Colin's first place finish with well earned gold medals as they formed a solid mixed doubles pairing. Prarthana Deuba won her silver medal, these games are a must watch as she challenges herself to pull off the wins on our home turf in two weeks! To bring in our all rounded team, Rini Chiu & Carolyn Luk in women's doubles, Jasmine Lau in women's singles and Kelvin Kwok & Gustavo Morales in men's doubles fought for the podiums bronze medals. These athletes' efforts got Centennial BOTH the men's team award and the women's team award over all the other OCAA colleges!
Coach Phil and Coach Liz cannot be more proud as the student-athletes brought onto the court what they have practiced hard all year at the Championships. We know that Coach Jolyon has his big iconic smile plastered on his face.
BUT it's not over yet, we have 2 more weeks to learn from Regionals and face tougher opponents at Provincials. Let's ride!
Provincials will be held February 16-17 at the Athletic and Wellness Centre. If you cannot attend in person, the matches on all 3 courts will be livestream at OCAA.com
