Extramurals Are Underway

We’re delighted to have Extramurals back and in competition!

Cricket
The Cricket team has gotten off to a hot start. They have participated in two competitions so far and have earned second place in both. On January 27, they look to finally grab their first tournament victory and are early favourites for the Rec Cup Championship this year!

Power Lifting
Centennial once again hosted its Extramural Power Lifting Competition on November 20. Our team placed first, second, and third in the strongest Women category. With Nikita Clark taking home the gold. The best female squat and bench press went to Sofia Carew, and the best female deadlift went to Nikita Clarke. Emmanuel Valdes took home the best male deadlift award on the men's side.

Mixed Volleyball
The coed volleyball team has taken part in two tournaments and managed to impress in both of these competitions and has the potential to be a great team. Come check out their next tournament on Jan 25, which is being hosted right here at Centennial College.

Hockey
The hockey team took part in their first tournament on November 25. They battled hard throughout the day and put on a respectable performance. The hockey team is also currently looking to add more members to the squad!

Women’s Basketball
We are still looking for players to form a recreation team before their first tournament in January. If you know any women students interested in joining a recreation basketball team, we want to meet them!

Men’s Basketball
Men’s Basketball completed its first tournament at Humber North on December 2. They dominated the competition and came out victorious in a hard-fought finals match-up against Humber. They will be looking to continue their success on February 3 at the Mohawk Invitational Tournament.
