SCARBOROUGH – Mirabel, Montroll and Campbell scored for Centennial leading the Colts to a 3-1 over the St. Lawrence Vikings at the AWC Turf Field.

The first half saw a flurry of action as both sides had numerous scoring chances. Centennial controlled most of the play but it was St. Lawrence who delivered the first blow.

The Vikings made it 1-0 after a poorly-timed back pass was intercepted by Joshua Barret who danced around the keeper and slid the ball into the open net.

The Colts wasted no time evening the score as Stephen Mirabel hit a beautiful ball from outside the box that touched the bar and fell into the back of the net.

Two minutes later, the Colts took their first lead of the match. Enrique Montroll redirected a brilliant header past the keeper for his first goal of the season. The Colts held a one-goal lead going into the half.

Nashon Campbell helped extend the lead to two with a beautiful strike midway through the half. Campbell's goal would be the last of the game as the Colts took it by a score of 3-1.

Centennial now sits atop the league standings with a record of 1-0-0. St. Lawrence drops to 0-1-0 on the season.

The Colts will try to keep their perfect record intact on Wednesday night when they will host the Fleming Knights at the AWC Turf Field. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 pm.

St. Lawrence will head home to prepare for the Durham Lords who they will host next Saturday evening.
