Women's Basketball Improve to 3 & 3

The Centennial Colts took on division rivals the Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball at the Georgian Athletic Centre on Saturday afternoon, November 18th, 2016.  The Grizzlies started the game with a solid effort playing high energy offence and aggressive defense, but it didn't last long as the Colts took over the game. The game started out as a back and forth affair with each team netting 12 points by the end of the first quarter.  The Colts then turned it up and as the game went on the Colts wore down the Grizzlies and went on a big scoring run, never to look back.

Up 38-24 by the half the Colts were clearly in control of the outcome of this game. In the 3rd quarter the Colts Outscored the Grizzlies by 12 points and ended up beating Georgian by 27 points 77-50.

The Lady Colts Basketball team now have a record of 3-3 with this latest win and the team moves into 3rd place in the OCAAA East Division.

Notable standouts for the Colts included Bethany Miller who contributed 10 pts, Ana Casado who had 11 pts with 2 REB, 2 AST, and 5 STL. Kayla Higgins with a total of 7 REB, 1 AST, 5 STL, 1 Block, and 14 pts. Former OCAA Athlete of the Week Yasmeen Smith came off the bench and popped in 18 pts and was the high scorer of the game with 7 REB, 1 AST, and 2 STL.

Next up for the Lady Colts is a home stance on Tuesday November 22nd against Cross Town Rivals the George Brown (GBC) Huskies. This game is sure to please as the Huskies only win of the season thus far is against the Colts. The Lady Colts will be looking to exact some retribution here at home
