Colts travel to Oshawa to Play Lords

The Centennial Colts have another chance at their first win of the season as they visit the Durham Lords in a clash of winless teams.

The Colts fell to 0-3 after a 58-48 loss earlier this week to the Seneca Sting.

Centennial nearly pulled out the win coming back from a ten-point deficit in the second half. However, after tying the game at 39, the Sting went on an 18-2 run to pull away from the charging Colts.

The Colts as a team lost too many opportunities on the offensive end with 28 turnovers, including 11 from Zhané Michael.

If there is a silver lining to the loss it stems from the defence. Centennial held the Sting to 37% shooting from the field, and Seneca did not hit any three-pointers. In addition, the Colts forced Seneca into 28 turnovers.

Durham took on the Georgian Grizzlies their last game, losing 56-50. Emma Bergen was a bright spot for the Lords scoring a team-high 17 points on 60% shooting, however as a team, the offence failed to get going.

Defensively, they held the Grizzlies to sub-30% shooting, but they were unable to stop Janella Viado who scored 26 points in the game and also recorded five steals on the defensive end.

Durham beat the Colts in both their matchups last season, but that was a different Lords team.

The Lords finished last season 12-2 so a complete 180 that could grant the Centennial their first victory of the young season.

Game time from Durham College starts at 6PM.
