Colts Fall on 2nd of Back-to-Back

Scarborough, ON - The Centennial Women's Basketball Team fell to the St. Lawrence Surge by a score of 65-58 on Sunday afternoon. 

The first quarter got off to a quick start with The Surge's Ella Doull and Amber Perreault Leading the way with 17 of 23 points while Zhané Michael dropped 8 in the first for the Colts. 

The second quarter played more to the defensive side of the ball with each team trading turnovers and missed opportunities on the offensive side of the ball. 

The Surge Came out aggressive in the second half, consistently getting the ball to their leading scorer, Ella Doull.  Although the Colts kept Doull off of the score sheet from 3-point territory, they could not keep the Surge away from shooting the 3, attempting 26 3's in the game.

Heading into the 4th quarter the Colts trailed 53-48.  In the 4th quarter, despite playing with a lot of heart and hustle, having only a 7-women rotation, fatigue started to set in and the Surge kept outbattling the Colts under the rim, out-rebounding the Colts 53-39.

Ella Doull led the way continued to lead the way for the Surge, dropping 25-5-1 while Zhané Michael lead the way for the Colts scoring 19 points.

That does it for the Colts in the first semester, finishing this calendar year with a record of 1-6.  Next game for the Colts come January 10th at Loyalist.
