Colts Look to Top Grizzlies on Home Soil

By: Pedro Casellatto

After defeating the Fleming Phoenix and getting their second win of the season, the Centennial Women's Volleyball team is back at the Progress Campus, Athletics & Wellness Centre this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. This time, they are hosting the Georgian Grizzlies, and they will be looking to start a winning streak at home.

The Colts had a great game against the Phoenix, and they will use this positive result as a motivator to play the Grizzlies at home. This is an important moment for the Colts, as they have the chance to secure fourth place, currently occupied by the Algonquin Wolves. The Colts' setter, Sophia Clement, returning after missing the first two games of the season, had a positive impact on the Colts' strategy. They seem more comfortable running their offence and being able to score even when out-of-system. Clement is happy to be back. She mentioned that "it felt good to play with the team again and even better to have such a great performance."

Coming to the Colts' home, the Grizzlies are looking for redemption after losing to the Durham Lords, making it the third loss so far in the season. With only one win, they will be aggressive on serving, as they know the Colts have had some trouble in the first games scoring on out-of-system attempts.

Both teams will work hard to win this game. As they are close in the standings, this result is important, and it will affect both teams in the playoffs.

Game time from the Athletic and Wellness Centre goes at 1PM.
