Colts Look to Stay Undefeated in Durham

The Centennial Colts have a chance to make it six straight to start the new year.

The Colts defeated the Seneca Sting 74-68 earlier this week to move to 5-0. Now, they face a difficult matchup in the 3-1 Durham Lords.

Durham finished with a 14-4 record last season, and are off to a quick start once again, winning their last game against the Georgian Grizzlies 92-64.

A balanced offensive attack, the Lords had four players scoring in double figures and were consistent all game, shooting 46% from the field and 40% from deep.

OCAA All-Rookie Kanskie Simon put up an impressive showing with 15 points, securing 10 rebounds.

Oshane Taylor-Douglas is also a player to look out for grabbing eight boards and nine assists in Durham's last victory. His 6.3 asissts per game ranks second in the OCAA.

For Centennial, the strong play of Deandre Goulbourne continues. Goulbourne put up 21 points in the victory over the sting. Goulbourne also had seven rebounds, just one shy of the team lead shared by Tavonn Mars-Buckley and Samuel Wong.

The Colts weren't the most efficient offensively and struggled for most of the game. Centennial however got to the line 24 times, hitting 19 of them, assisting their path to victory.

Tayeshaun Crawford played seven minutes in the win as the Colts are starting to ease him back into the lineup after suffering an ankle injury against Algonquin two weeks ago.

This will be the Colts toughest task yet this season.

The Lords are led by head coach Desmond Rowley, last season's OCAA Coach of the Year. A group with strong leadership will come out hungry and try to knock off the top team in the Eastern Conference.
