Colts play the Lords in key match to define OCAA’s Eastern League (Game Preview)

Following their undeserved loss against the St. Lawrence Surge, Centennial has a golden opportunity to end their losing streak against none other than The Durham Lords.

The Lords are second in the standings of the Eastern Division, just one spot ahead of the Colts, who will grab their place (and possibly even reach the top depending on other results) if they manage to get the three points on Tuesday night at Progress Campus.

However, for that to happen, Centennial will have to improve on certain factors that ended up costing the team three valuable points against The Surge on Saturday, according to Colombian midfielder Felipe Calderon.

"It was very frustrating to get our second consecutive loss, specially because it was a home game," said Calderon during a pre-game interview. "We were first, and now we are in a position that we don't like."

"We talked as a team and to cheer ourselves up. The coach told us he believes in us and that we should feel confident enough to put into practice everything we do in our training sessions. He pointed out that we must have an all-or-nothing sort of attitude when we play against Durham."

It's no secret that this will be a challenging match for the Colts, but based on recent experience, it's not impossible for the team to get the three points at the end of the night.

Just six days ago, these two teams faced each other at Vaso's Field, and it was a very tight game, with both sides getting the same amount of shots on target. In the end, it was a 2-1 victory for the home team, thanks to a goal in the 90th minute. Previously, Brandon Thorpe scoring for Centennial.

The match showed that the Lords are a very physical team, as they handled the game pretty well after one of their players got sent off.

Even though this match will also be at Colts Pitch, conditions will be very different from those on Saturday. The referee will blow his whistle at 8:15 PM, meaning it will be much cooler weather which could benefit the team.

"This is a much better time for us," said the Medellin native. "Our idea is to go and pressure them from the very beginning, and not having to deal with a high temperature while doing that is very convenient."
