After two tough games, the Centennial Men's Volleyball team is looking to bounce back and regain momentum for the playoffs. This Wednesday, the Colts will be riding to Belleville, where they will be taking on the Loyalist Lancers at 8 p.m. The visitors will be looking to get back in second place, as they now have 12 wins against 13 wins by the Algonquin Wolves.
The Colts have had a good season, and the two last results were not a picture of their performance throughout the year. This week, they will have the chance to get back on track and show the killing volleyball level they have shown the entire season. This will be a very important game that will not only decide playoff matchups but also help the Colts bring positive energy and momentum to the final phase of the league.
It is a delicate time for the Colts, as two games slipped out of their control in very unfortunate moments. There have been times when they relaxed and lost crucial sets that dictated the result of the game. These two last games of the regular season will be a good test for the Colts to keep control during the entire match. The outside hitter, Gianluca Righetto, mentioned that this is the challenge they need. "Before thinking about playoffs, we need to make sure everything is adjusted so we can perform like we did earlier in the season," said Righetto.
The hosts, the Loyalist Lancers, have been fighting hard to stay in the top eight. With an unfortunate loss to the Canadore Panthers, they are now sitting in the second-last position with four wins and 12 losses. This game is their chance to stay in the dispute for eighth place and get to play in the playoffs. With seven OCAA titles, the Lancers are going through a rebuilding phase and are looking to be in the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
It will be an important game for both teams, and we hope they can bring a lot of intensity and passion to the court this Wednesday. It will be the chance for the Colts to recover and come to the playoffs with a different energy.
