Colts welcome Iain Panagiotou, new libero/left side for 2020/21 season

Relationships, skills highlight Panagiotou ahead of 1st season with Colts

The Centennial Colts men’s volleyball team lacked roster versatility and depth last season, and head coach Adriana Bento received positive news regarding the issue ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The Colts are proud to introduce their new libero/left side, Iain Panagiotou.

Panagiotou’s background in volleyball dates back to high school, where he played the sport during all four years. The Guelph, Ont. native, also had a seven-year experience with Storm Volleyball, a club in which he won several medals, including a provincial silver in 2019.

The two-time City of Guelph All-Star, who describes his playing as “strategic,” also made the Team Ontario Beach Volleyball team in 2018.

Despite the already-impressive resume, Panagiotou isn’t taking this new volleyball chapter of his career for granted, as he intends to “build friendships and further my skills” with the Colts next season, he told the Centennial Colts Media Staff.

But Panagiotou also joins Centennial’s volleyball team with one main collective goal: “Go further into playoffs than last season.”

The Colts finished eighth in the OCAA East last season after posting a 5-13 record during the regular season. Centennial, which lost left side Marvin Reid and middles Edvaldo Hire and Jordan Nnabuogor due to graduation, then fell to the Humber Hawks in the Crossover Match.
