The Centennial Women's Volleyball team is back in action for the first game of 2024, against the Algonquin Wolves, at the Jack Doyle Athletics & Recreation Centre. After an extended break, they will be coming back for the second half of the season, looking to continue the streak of two wins they currently have and fight to be one of the top four teams in the division.

The Colts have been showing a consistent level of volleyball. Their defensive system is easily considered one of the best ones in the league. However, the game has somewhat stagnated due to the limited number of options in offence, which is their main focus for the next matchups in Ottawa. The libero, Ava Hamilton, one of the pleasant surprises the Colts had this season, demonstrated enthusiasm for the game. She explained that it will be their opportunity to take fourth place. "We want to play in front of our crowd in the playoffs, and we know how important this game will be to achieve this goal," said Hamilton.

The Wolves are in a similar position and depending on the result of their matchup against the La Cite Coyotes on Friday, this game will likely put them tied for fifth with the Colts. This will be a motivating factor for the Wolves, who are also looking for the chance to potentially host a playoff game. They will bet on their compact defensive system to stop the Colts, who are going to match the strategy, making it a very balanced game. It is just a matter of which team will be the most patient to wait for the right moments to press on service and avoid mistakes.

We hope the Colts bring a lot of energy for the second half of the season and that they can finally get momentum to be the promising team they were at the beginning of the year. We hope the Wolves match the energy as well, and the fans get a glimpse at the vibes both teams are bringing to the playoffs.
