Colts Keeper Joshua Naraine Called Up to Guyanese National Team for Third Consecutive Year

The Centennial Colts Athletics Department is proud to announce that Men's Soccer goalkeeper Joshua Naraine has once again been selected to represent the Guyanese Men's National Soccer Team. After joining the squad in 2023, this marks his third consecutive call-up to the senior team.

Naraine, a former Ontario Tech Ridgeback, has spent the last two seasons with the Colts and has consistently ranked among the league's top five goalkeepers. This past season, he finished 5th in total saves, 3rd in save percentage, and 3rd in goals against average across the OCAA.

A starter for Pickering FC in League1 Ontario, Josh will depart his club team to join Guyana as they compete in the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) World Cup Qualifiers. He'll be on the squad as they face Nicaragua on June 6 and Montserrat on June 10.

Centennial Colts Men's Soccer Head Coach David Lattavo shared his thoughts on the selection:
"I'm really happy for Josh. I know how long he's been working toward this. Now he's getting closer to a goal he set years ago. This is a big moment—not just for him, but for our program. It shows our players that anything is possible. It also speaks volumes about the quality we have here with the Colts."

"We always push and motivate our players to compete at the highest level possible. When they gain experience at that next level, they bring that intensity back into our training sessions, and it lifts everyone. After sending Shamir Akbar to Europe, Josh's journey adds to the foundation we're building. Our coaching staff puts in the work on and off the pitch to help these guys chase their dreams."
