Centennial College is proud to announce the appointment of Chester Taylor as the Interim Head Coach of the Colts Men's Basketball team. A respected leader both on and off the court, Taylor brings a wealth of coaching experience, a deep commitment to athlete development, and a clear vision for the future of the program.

A Scarborough native, Taylor has long been a fixture in the local basketball scene. He is the founder and owner of Team Sanctuary, a well-regarded AAU program focused on high-performance training and exposure for young athletes. His experience spans several levels of the game, from grassroots to professional.

Taylor coached high school basketball for four years before transitioning to Royal Crown Academic School, where he led the team to a championship victory in 2023. That same year, he was also part of the coaching staff with the Scarborough Shooting Stars, helping the team secure a title in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).

Having served as the lead assistant coach with the Colts for multiple seasons, Taylor has already made a significant impact on the program. Known for his sharp recruiting instincts, player-first mentality, and high basketball IQ, he has played an integral role in the team's recent progress.

"I'm incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to lead this team," said Coach Taylor. "My goal is to bring a different energy to the program—one that's focused, driven, and grounded in disciplined excellence. That means holding ourselves to the highest standards, both on the court and in the classroom. I'm ready to get to work."

Coach Taylor will begin his tenure immediately as the Colts prepare for the upcoming season. Under his leadership, the program will prioritize competitive excellence, academic accountability, and meaningful community engagement.
