What Is an ID Session

A: An ID Session is for aspiring student-athletes. It provides a snapshot of collegiate athletics in a competitive and challenging environment. It’s an excellent opportunity for serious student-athletes to be seen by our coaching and athletic staff before open tryouts at the start of the semester.

Q: Do I need to be vaccinated in order to play Varsity Sports?

A: Please refer to Centennial College's Covid Immunization Policy for details HERE.

Q: Can I play Fall Varsity Sports if I'm registered as a full-time student for only the winter semester? 

A: No, Students beginning in January, who have been accepted and satisfied entry requirements cannot participate for their team prior to December 26th.

 

Q: Can I play Varsity if I’m an International Student? 

A: Yes, as long as you are registered as a full-time student 

 

Q: What are Extramural sports?

A: Extramurals are like a Varsity minor. Players will still have to try out and make the team. If you make the team, you will practice once a week and attend 3-4 tournaments a year. Extramural Sports play against other Ontario collegiate teams. Those interested in our extramural teams should contact our extramural coordinator Ben Anderson, at Benanderson@centennialcollege.ca

 *Please note that a result of the Covid-19 Extramural Sports will not be taking place.

 

Q: Is Athletic Therapy available for all students? 

A: No, Athletic Therapy is only available to students that participate in the Varsity sport program at Centennial College. Athletic Therapy is provided at Progress Campus during practices and games, with limited appointments available during the weekday schedule for varsity athletes.

 

Q: Do I have to be a student to use the Athletic facilities?

A: No, Athletic Facilities are open to full-time students and staff. 

 

Q: Where can I purchase my gym membership? 

A: There is no fee for gym memberships.

  

Q: Do you offer fitness classes?

A: Yes, we do offer fitness classes to both students and staff. We offer in-person fitness classes out of our progress campus, and the schedule varies from semester to semester. For the first 2 weeks of each semester, participants can try our classes for FREE. After two weeks, there is a small fee for the semester, and you can learn more at the front desk of the athletics office. Due to covid-19, there are no in-person classes this semester. We will be offering virtual classes for fall 2021 and are excited to be back in person for winter 2022.

 

Q: How do I rent a facility, and which facilities are for rent? 

A: Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will not be accepting rental requests. For more rental information on Progress Turf Field, please contact Kevin Campbell at KevinCampbell@centennialcollege.ca. For more rental information on Ashtonbeen Gymnasium, contact Everest Fabro-Valdes at EFabroValdez@centennialcollege.ca

 

Q: Will there be a drop-in time? Where can I find the schedule? 

A: Yes, we will have open recreation/drop-in times, but students will still need to reserve a spot through our online booking system. The schedule can be found here: https://gocolts.ca/sports/campus_rec/open_rec
