Coach Thomas is a seasoned and respected basketball coach based in Toronto, Canada, with over 15 years of coaching experience. He holds Canada’s highest coaching designation—NCCP Level 3/Train to Compete certification through Canada Basketball. He also works part-time with the Toronto Raptors as a Community Youth Development Coach, where he leads on-court sessions and facilitates the classroom component of the Raptors Basketball Academy.

In addition to his basketball credentials, Coach Thomas is an elementary school teacher specializing in Science, Math, and Physical Education. He led his girls’ basketball team to five York Region Championships between 2015 and 2019. His program has gained meaningful media recognition, including two CTV News features that highlighted the team’s impact on the school and the surrounding community.

Coach Thomas uses his role with the Raptors to connect with top trainers across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, constantly evolving and refining his coaching methods. He has worked closely with NBA stars such as DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet at various camps and clinics.

Bringing a multi-sport perspective to his coaching, Coach Thomas also played over 25 years with the Aurora Barbarians Rugby Club in the Ontario Rugby League—an experience that contributes to his dynamic and adaptable coaching philosophy.

He is a graduate of York University with a Specialized Honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences and holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.
