Colts Surge Past St. Lawrence in an 8-Goal Stampede

The Colts kicked off the season in style, dominating the St. Lawrence Surge with a commanding 8-0 victory.

The first round of the OCAA Women's Soccer season is in the books, and it couldn't have started better for the Colts. As hosts, they completely controlled the game, scoring eight goals while shutting out their opponents. From start to finish, the Centennial Women's Soccer team dictated the pace, leaving the Surge with no opportunity to respond.

The first half began with the Colts confidently controlling possession, with midfielders and defenders actively involved in the play. It didn't take long for them to break through. Serena Mcdonald received a perfect through pass from Vanessa Lima and slotted home the first goal of the season. From that moment on, the Colts found their rhythm, piling on the pressure and creating chance after chance. By halftime, they had racked up a 5-0 lead.

The Surge came out in the second half looking more organized, likely testing out strategies for future games, but the Colts wasted no time in keeping the pressure on. Mylie Decoff scored early in the second half, followed by another from Lima. To cap off the dominant performance,

Soledad Vazquez-Cicutto fired a stunning goal from outside the box, sealing the 8-0 victory.

Midfielder Vanessa Lima was the standout, finishing with two goals and three assists, while Mylie Decoff also netted two goals. Beyond the stats, the Colts showcased strong team chemistry, with rookies like Sydney Fraser and Annabelle Dionne making their presence felt in an experienced squad.

It was the perfect start for the Colts, and they'll look to keep the momentum going in their second home game against the Loyalist Lancers on Sunday at 1:00 p.m
