Colts Clash Coyotes on 2nd of Back-to-Back

By: Pedro Casellatto

The Centennial Women's Volleyball team goes head-to-head against the La Cité Coyotes this Sunday at 1 p.m. The players have come prepared with a full game plan and motivation to secure their fifth-place spot in the OCAA standings. With the tension tight and the stakes high, the Colts come out this Sunday to get back on their winning streak and start the climb toward the top four.

After losing the last game to the Algonquin Wolves, the Colts have revised their game plan, making the proper adaptations to get through the compact defensive system of the La Cité Coyotes. With two players making the top five attacking stats, the Colts rely heavily on their offence as they face the fourth-strongest defensive team currently in the OCAA. The talented second-year setter, Cassidy Dunlop, mentioned that it will be a patience test for the Colts, and they will need to focus on adjusting their strategy as the game unfolds. Dunlop states, "We have been excited to face La Cité again ever since our last match at Centennial; we have been looking forward to seeing the improvements made by both teams."

The hosts, La Cité Coyotes, have been struggling to get a sequence of wins and are now occupying the last remaining playoff spot. They have had amazing performances defensively but are lacking the offensive power they need to defeat opposing teams. The libero, Mélany Delisle, is currently leading the league in digs per set and will give the Colts a hard time.

We hope the Colts can find their pace early in the game and maintain control to enable more strategic attempts. It will be another chance for them to bring back the energy and intensity they have shown this season. We also hope the Coyotes come in and match the energy, giving the fans a great volleyball show on their home soil.
