Colts Set to Take on Surge in Exciting Season Opener

SCARBOROUGH, ONTARIO - The Centennial Colts men's soccer team is ready to make a statement as they kick off their OCAA season this Saturday, September 7, at 3:00 PM at the Progress Campus Pitch, facing off against the St. Lawrence Surge.

After an early exit in last season's playoffs, head coach David Lattavo has made some major moves to reshape the team for a fresh start. And the results are already showing! In a preseason exhibition against defending champions Conestoga, the Colts delivered a stellar performance, securing an impressive win with a rock-solid defense and sharp offensive plays.

Coach Lattavo's strategy? A mix of new talent and veteran experience. This season brings Colts Indoor MVP Duarte Ventura-Oliveira to the outdoor squad. In his debut match against his former team, the Surge, Duarte shared that the team has identified areas to improve from last year and has been working hard in the offseason. His excitement to face his old team is palpable: "We've been fixing our mistakes, and I can't wait for this match."

Team captain and fourth-year leader Keith Dadson echoed Duarte's confidence, adding that the preseason win against Conestoga gave the team an extra boost. "Beating them in the preseason was huge, especially after last year's loss in the Indoor season," Dadson said. With a blend of seasoned players and energized rookies, the Colts are determined to make their mark this year.

In the highly competitive OCAA, every match matters. The Colts are focused on taking it one game at a time, starting with the Surge. Don't miss the action—join us at the Progress Campus or catch the live stream on our YouTube channel to see what this dynamic team has in store!
